An integrated educational tool developed for educators and pre-teens with 27 empowering, motivational lessons and activities.  

An interactive curriculum including subjects of health and nutrition, social science, science, mathematics, language arts, visual and performing arts with an innovative 3D format, easy to navigate, understand and use.

• "Gone Fishin" . . . a video compilation of profiles showing how and why fisher folk catch fish.

• "Protecting the Ocean" video which depicts fishermen working to keep the ocean clean.

• "Grow Series - Seafood" (co-sponsored by the California Department of Education) tracks seafood's journey to market.

Explore California's Golden Seas, a source of life, food and livelihood in this innovative CD-ROM. Learn about the ocean and California's fishing industry, as well as the importance of seafood as a healthy food choice through this powerful interactive learning cube trademark interface.  

A wealth of information is presented in 3D animation with vibrant graphics, a lively musical soundtrack and more than 40 minutes of video highlighting fisher folk at work.  

Comprehensive, integrated activities follow the California's State Board of Education's curriculum frameworks for science, math, social science, language, art, health and the visual and performing arts.  

This disc includes 27 motivational lessons and a sing-along karaoke with the I Love the Ocean theme song composed by Terri New.  

The Golden sees Riddle book is an entertaining read a long story with thought-provoking riddles along the way, ending with Sharkey's Word search.     

Educators resources contains many credible files, including California Golden Seas color poster, seafood stickers Golden Sea’s fish facts and the original Golden Seas Riddle book.  

Meet Our Team

Terri New was Executive-Producer of the California Golden Seas Curriculum Multimedia Project. The curriculum was in collaboration with the California Seafood Council, Diane Pleshner and the California State School of Education on the Fishing Industry.  Terri partnered with a Los Angeles based company L3i, which had unique proprietary software, the iCube, an exciting interface with navigation by means of a 3D cube. This curriculum was distributed throughout the State of California K-12 schools. Graphic Artists include Keith Puccinnelli, Rebecca Burns and Terri New. Video production by Terri New. Terri New and Bob Esty produced and composed the musical score for the series. It was developed by the California Seafood Council with support from the Local Marine Fisheries Impact Program, California Department of Fish and Game Marine Resources Division. Deborah Lane Beall developed the hard copy activities and compiled information that was the foundation for the multimedia design. Many people contributed a great deal of time and effort to create and develop this program, it has inspired many children to learn about and care for the ocean.
